Orca Spirit Adventures is seeking a Sales/Event Coordinator for the busy Whale Watching & Charter business in Victoria, BC. The ideal candidate must be well organized and have the strong ability to multi-task in a high paced tourism environment. Office administration experience and previous work in the Tourism Industry is considered a valuable asset. Candidate must have a strong focus on customer service and be passionate about the marine environment.

This individual will work closely with the Sales and Marketing Director, our tour sales team and know the ins and outs of the operation. Daily duties include answering phones, taking online and telephone reservations, answering emails, tour boat scheduling and staff coordination, guest check ins and handling guests concerns. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to organize large groups of people.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Build, foster and maintain relationships with concierge, front desk and bellmen in local hotels.
  • Attend showcases and networking events to represent the brand professionally including Corporate Markets and Travel Agent Trade Shows.
  • Manage listings for wholesalers, memberships, racking programs, and partnerships.
  • Charters and onsite events: bookings, coordination and execution including greeting all charters before departure to ensure quality control, prepping of crew.
  • Tourism partner packaging.
  • Assist tour sales team with sales training, ensure policies and procedures are being met and assist front desk on any high volume days.
  • Assist with social media initiatives (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), maintain Trip Advisor reviews and and ensure that website and online information is up to date.
  • Administrative support answering main phone line, responding to guest questions and fielding any customer service issues.
